So, since we are throwing ROK and US vs. China and DPRK I think we need to discuss how we will balance a few things like how outside a few units like Li Jian it will be hard for China and DPRK to counter US infantry in the form of Marines and riflemen in Bradleys. China has a few decent tricks but CAT A. US armor, arty, and air force are all hard for DPRK or China to really take on, particularly DPRK whose main edge is those AA transports, and I do not think there is much either can utilize aside from ambushes with superior numbers at close range which generally means losing territory as you reposition or risk arty and air strikes on where you struck from

This is certainly a topic which is important to to talk about.
My current feelings are that we should not limit decks too much. The US needs limiting without a doubt. However, Eugen have done a good job so far with balancing on the whole so I beleieve China, N. Korea & S. Korea should be left alone.
The idea I believe would be to severely limit US decks, to perhaps maybe two. These would be a challenge to any REDFOR commander who would certainly not be looking forward to meeting the US decks on the battlefield; which adds the sense of fear which comes with attacking someone with a powerful ally. With that spirit in mind, it would certainly be ideal to allow China to field more decks than the USA, to have either 3 or 4 depending on what we all think would balance this issue out.
With regards to the USA and units, prototypes shall be banned, aswell as outdated vehicles. Which of these do we believe would be outdated? From 1970? THis is somerhing we must discuss.

Restricting US prototypes sounds like a good idea, however restricting 'outdated' units sounds like a needless complication. 1970 only restricts the US cp jeep, their cheap recon jeep, their small cargo truck, the low end chaparal, the transport truck, one of the m113's, the huey.
Wargame is already set in the 80-90's, why bother restricting on age? Shouldn't we just keep things as simple as possible?

An idea I had actually now is that all decks be put in a thread. I figure both sides would likely have some idea of what the other fields and a general knowledge of what various units were comprised of. In this thread we would have a chance to see and make sure nobody was finding a deck that nobody would enjoy facing or does not make sense in the setting.
edit: We could also always just remove China and US for now to make it more simple with just 1 nation each faction and add more later on.
